I’m Jamaal Johnson, JD, the founder and chair of Jamaal Johnson, Esq., Attorney at Law. I’ve had the privilege of working across various areas of law, including intellectual property, entertainment, immigration, civil, and criminal matters. My passion for justice drives everything I do in my practice.

I grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in computer science with honors from Southern University and A&M College. After that, I pursued my Juris Doctor, serving as president of the law school’s Intellectual Property Society and receiving scholarships from the Houston Intellectual Property Association and the Houston Corporate Bar Section. I graduated law school cum laude and was part of a class that achieved the highest bar passage rate in my school’s history. Today, I’m a proud member of the State Bar of Texas and the United States Federal Court for the Southern District of Texas.

Outside of my professional life, I’m a dedicated father who spends most of my free time with my children. They’re active in sports and social activities, and I volunteer as a coach on most of their teams throughout the year. This not only allows me to give back to the community by mentoring other young people but also gives me moments to reflect and give thanks. These experiences continually fuel my commitment to seeking justice and promoting peace, both here in the U.S. and around the world.
